Formalities

I am qualified to practise law in the Netherlands and in Hong Kong.

I have registered corporate law as my principal legal practice area in the Dutch Bar Association’s register of legal practice areas. Based on this registration, I am required to obtain 10 training credits in corporate law per calendar year in accordance with the standards set by the Dutch Bar Association. 

I am admitted as a solicitor by the High Court of Hong Kong but not currently in private practice in Hong Kong. 

All services provided by me and any person associated with me are provided through Möller Advocatuur B.V. (“Möller“) as the sole contracting party.

Möller is a private company with limited liability incorporated in the Netherlands, with its statutory seat in Amsterdam and registered with the Dutch Chamber of Commerce under number 87629208.

Möller is a law firm registered with and supervised by the Dutch Bar Association.

Möller does not accept third party funds.

Möller (and any person providing services on behalf of Möller) is insured for professional liability under a policy that meets the requirements of the Dutch Bar Association. The insurer is HDI Global Specialty SE acting through its branch office in the Netherlands registered in the Trade Register under number 76325083 with registered address at Blaak 34, 3011 TA Rotterdam, the Netherlands, and correspondence address PO Box 925,3000 AX Rotterdam, the Netherlands. Further information about the insurer, the coverage and other terms of the policy are made available to clients upon request.

In the event of the death, incapacity or continued absence of Jan Willem Möller, Mr. A.J. Dunki Jacobs shall act as the observer (waarnemer) for all then current client matters of Möller.

Complaints procedure:

  • This complaints procedure applies to all client matters in which Möller provides services.
  • In case of any complaint in respect of the services provided by Möller (or any person associated with Möller or otherwise involved in the provision of the services provided by Möller) or the terms, quality or cost of such services, you should submit your complaint by email.
  • Jan Willem Möller is responsible for considering your complaint and undertakes to substantively respond to your complaint by email within 10 business days.
  • This response will include an opinion on whether your complaint is justified (giving reasons) and suggested next steps, if any.
  • You will be given the opportunity to provide further background to your complaint.
  • Möller will not charge for any time spent considering and responding to your complaint.
  • You are at any time free to file a complaint with the Dutch Bar Association.
  • Unless specifically agreed otherwise, all client engagements are governed by Dutch law and any dispute in respect of the services provided by Möller (or any person associated with Möller or otherwise involved in the provision of the services provided by Möller) or the terms, quality or cost of such services, which cannot be resolved in accordance with this complaints procedure shall be submitted to the competent Court of Amsterdam.
